I spent a good 25 minutes on getting the cuddly pose about right. It is difficult in so many ways as I am not used to drawing girls. I just never really practiced that. Amplify that frustration with trying to draw a cute girl, in a hugging pose, with an ugly demon that is supposed to be cuddly, and a lot of trial and error is involved.
For the demon, I tried to study the distinctive features, and blow them up to represent a cuddly toy using stitches to emphasize. It helped that I had a go at drawing Eeyore, and Kanga and Roo from Winnie the Pooh, which are meant to be stuffed animals.
For Santa I am getting a book called “Figure it out” by Christopher Hart, in which human poses are explained. Hopefully that will draw (pun intended) me more to drawing better and more expressive poses without having to hunt for example pictures.
Shhhh… You aren’t supposed to know what you are getting for Christmas LOL..
