328. Henry de Toulouse-Lautrec

The colors are very vibrant. The tortured soul of Henry shows in his art. The poor guy died at age 36 having a heavy drinking problem.

It didn’t feel right to make a caricature of him, as he already felt like one due to a birth defect.

It is very interesting to read up on his past. Here is a horse in the blue style of Henry de Toulouse-Lautrec.

For this art I used a regular brush to apply the background, which worked better than the Sakura Koi brush (which slowly adds water to the mix). Using the blue color is hard, it sets my senses off what values are right on the horse’s face.
