As classic mistakes go, I made a lot of classic mistakes. A lot of “watercolor 101” rules are broken, but as Bob Ross liked to say;
“We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.”
The water looks dirty. I wanted to paint a tranquil picture of a dock but instead I got the view of a swamp lake. But for my second real attempt doing this right, I am not unhappy with it.
One of the lessons I learned is, timebox. When the alarm goes at 5:30 am in the morning, it is not smart to be pushing this to a finished state at 10 pm the evening before.
The adrenaline of the
‘enjoyment’ frustration of painting this hopefully wears off in the next hour or so.
